LEGO IDEAS Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale set #21348

Have you ever played DUNGEONS & DRAGONS? The game is famous for its players taking on different characters within a story that is filled with friends and foes, as well as monsters, treasures and quests. And now the fans can recreate their own little piece of the story with the LEGO Ideas Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale set #21348 coming out in April.

This is the very first LEGO Dungeons & Dragons set!

The famous Dungeons and Dragons table game (not a board game) got released in 1974 and is currently celebrating its 50 year anniversary! And I think it is wonderful that LEGO has now added D&D to its collection as well. I am somewhat hoping this is just the first of many sets for the D&D line, because it only tells one tale, but is absolutely stunning. Who knows, maybe more adventures, story’s and sets will be added over the next years. This LEGO Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragons Tale set (21348) was created in collaboration with Wizards of the Coast and includes a custom campaign written by the D&D game team! Out of 600 submissions the winning design was from 32-year-old Dutch LEGO and DUNGEONS & DRAGONS fan Lucas Bolt (left on the photo). He then worked closely with the LEGO Design team, to develop the unique setting represented in the final set.

What is the LEGO Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragons tale set?

The 21348 LEGO Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragons tale set contains 3,745 pieces and features a tavern with a removable roof, so you can see inside and have easy access. The set also features a dungeon (how could it not) and a tower. But the set also comes with a posable Cinderhowl, which is the Red Dragon figure that can actually be wrapped around the tower.

Which minifigures come with the set?

The set also comes with 6 LEGO minifigures – 4 brave adventurers which are an elf wizard, a dwarf cleric, a gnome fighter and an orc rogu. But you also get the innkeeper and dragonborn Alax Jadescales. Plus lots of monster figures such as an owlbear and a beholder , including and a displacer beast.
