Are you a fan of miniature buildings inspired by fantastic city’s from all over the world? Step into the world of LEGO Creator Modular Buildings. From pittoresque French inspired squares, lovely shops, cafe’s and restaurants, a little piece of Wallstreet, your own policestation and more. This is the series you don’t want to miss out on!
Unfortunately I stepped into the game a little late. And whilst I am collecting LEGO Creator Modular Buildings nowadays, I am still missing out on a decade of beautiful Modular Building sets. As they are no longer available from LEGO stores, they have become real collector items on the internet and purchasing them through other channels can become quite expensive. But nevertheless I want to show them to you, and you can make up your own mind on also becoming a mayor in your own LEGO town.
What are LEGO modular Buildings?
LEGO Modular Buildings are 2 – 3 storey (floors) building set of which you can remove the building sections to access the detailed interior. On each side the units have 2 technic pins that can connect several sets to one another. You can arrange them any way you want and social media is packed with people having build entire cities with these Modular building sets. Each sets is a different type, or has a particular town function. But they are all so beautifully designed and match together perfectly.
How many LEGO Creator modular Buildings are there?
As of 2023 there are 18 Different LEGO Creator Modular Buildings, with the first two appearing in 2007. LEGO has been releasing one new set every year since then. Nowadays between Halloween and Christmas they will be announcing the release date the new set , which will become available around first week of the new calendar year. So I will be updating below list when new sets are coming out in the future.
Can you connect other LEGO sets to Modular Buildings?
The answer is yes! The Creator series are not the only modular sets available. You can also have a look at CITY series, Creator (3 in 1), NINJAGO and many more. But if you like, I can also make a separate list of items I think beautifully connect to these LEGO towns with LEGO Creator Modular Buildings. But more information on that will have to follow in another post!

LEGO 10182 Cafe Corner (2007)
The very first LEGO Modular Building was the 10182 Cafe Corner. Released in 2007 and a true collectors item nowadays! The 3-storey set contains a cafe on the bottom floor. The 2 floors above are an hotel, hence the vertical hotel sign. This set is a ‘corner piece’ (like the name suggests) which you can put at the end or intersection of your LEGO town. It comes with 3 minifigures, a lovely corner tower and white-yellow canopy accross the corner. It was the start of something beautiful here.

LEGO 10190 Market Street (2007)
Launched only a few months after the very first LEGO Modular building and designed by Dutch LEGO fan designer Erik Brok. The market street is one typically seen in large Dutch cities like Amsterdam, Utrecht, Nijmegen and more. With a downstairs apartment, spiraling stairs, heaps of tiny windows, carport, a gate, terrace roof and more.

LEGO 10185 Green Grocer (2008)
Expand your LEGO neighborhood with the Green Grocer! This building features a grocery store on the ground floor and classic apartments with bay windows that can be built, rebuilt and rearranged to suit your own LEGO town. You’ll also get courtyard access, a roof terrace and fire escape, lots of windows and doors, and much more! This looks like a little San Fran update to your street. LEGO 10197 Fire Brigade (2009)
Sound the alarm! There is a fire in the city! This 1930’s Fire Brigade is a detailed and beautiful addition to your LEGO town. It includes a 1930’s firetruck, 3 firemen, a lady and a dog. Inside you will find that famous firepole to bring the men down and off to the danger zone!

LEGO 10211 Grand Emporium (2010)
This detailed Department Store has a total of 3 floors. Take your LEGO minifigures (window)shopping and try out clothes in the fitting room, or try some perfumes, juwelry, hats and more. There is a rotating entrance door, a huge chandelier suspending in the atrium and the building features a commercial sign on the roof. The top floor also has a child toy store. A very mixed composition with a lot of stores and a great addition to the LEGO Modular buildings.

LEGO 10218 Pet Shop (2011) |
The Pet Shop building and townhouse is the perfect addition to your LEGO town. The pet shop building features a hinged staircase for easy access, upper apartment with kitchenette and upper loft. To the side, the townhouse features a detailed ground floor with accessories and spiral staircase leading to the upper floor. The attic space features storage boxes and French doors leading out to a balcony, while the rooftop garden is complete with fresh vegetables, to brighten up the rear of the building. This set includes the following minifigures: pet shop owner, girl on bicycle, painter with paint roller and a another woman! The Pet Shop includes a dog, cat, 2 parrots and a fish tank with goldfish.

It is premiere night at the Palace Cinema! With the spotlights in the night sky and a child star arriving in a black limousine! LEGO 10243 Parisian Restaurant (2014)
This Parisian Restaurant is such a sweet decor for any LEGO street! As a scooter zips by, inside and on the terrace the waiter rushes between the tables as the nervous young man gets ready to propose with the ring! It’s just as hectic behind the scenes, with the chef busily preparing the food. The Parisian Restaurant has a fully-stocked kitchen. But also a cozy apartment with pull-down bed, kitchenette and fireplace. On the top floor is an artist’s room with a studio that includes paintbrush and two works of art by the aspiring artist. Outside, stairs lead down to the roof terrace lined with hanging lanterns and flowers where the diners eat alfresco-style. This amazing Parisian Restaurant model even includes a facade with croissants, clams and feather details that recapture the feel of Paris. LEGO 10260 Downtown Diner (2018)
As seen in a lot of movies and so incredibly ‘American’… Who doesn’t love this 50’s diner full of art deco colors and elements? On the ground level features the 1950s downtown American diner styling with a large curved front window, red barstools, benches, jukebox, candy machine, counter, 2 soda dispensers, and a kitchen with a coffee machine, stove and a cooker hood. The mid-level features a boxing gym with a boxing ring, punching bag, weight training room, water dispenser and a wall clock. And the upper level features a recording studio complete with vocal booth, soundproofed walls, mixing desk and a refreshments cabinet. Every town or city needs law & order, so this Police Station (10278) model is a must have for your Modular Buildings collection. There are also a number of novel pieces within the set to appeal to adult LEGO fans. Next door is a donut shop filled with treats and, to the other side, a newspaper kiosk. LEGO 10326 Natural History Museum (2023/2024)
The lastest addition to the LEGO modular series is the BIGGEST one so far! It takes up 1,5 baseplate and comes with more than 4,000 bricks!
